Diet, Lifestyle, and Exercise
One of the integral aspects to Traditional Chinese Medicine is Yǎng Shēng Fǎ 養生法.
Literally translating to ‘Nourishing life principles’ or ‘engendering health and longevity.’ Through diet, lifestyle, and exercise (including breathwork, and restorative practices) one lives in accordance to the seasons to align with optimal health. This is an approach to life, one that honors the flow of life and all aspects of being.
This is a discipline of self-care and self-responsibility.
Living consciously is not only about the food we eat, it is how we treat others and meet conflict. Since humans have walked with existential angst, so too have practices like meditation or contemplation been explored. This is a humble approach to balance, seasonal attunement, and a conscious connection to how we walk in this world.
In these sessions, you can expect to be asked a lot of questions. I will take a detailed analysis of your current and past health history, utilize tongue and pulse diagnosis to determine root causes. Depending, we will discuss diet and food attitudes. Unfortunately, I am not yet able to prescribe herbs, and if I think you would benefit, I will refer you to someone who can. We will practice breath work together, we may do some Qi Gong or Yoga to target specific goals.
We will dig deep, and I suggest bringing some kind of device or paper to note recommendations.
